Citing a report

To create a reference or citation for a report, you will need to know basic information including the name of the author or organization, title of the report, publisher, publication date, year, and URL.

Citing a report in MLA style
The title should be in title case and italicized.

To cite a case study in APA, use the core required elements: the name of the author(s), the publication year, the title of the case study, the journal in which it was published, the volume and issue numbers, the page number(s), and the DOI/URL (if applicable). If the case study is published individually, treat it like a book; otherwise, treat the source like a journal article.
To cite an unpublished report in APA, use the core required elements: the name of the author(s)/organization, the year completed, the title of the report, the department and institution where the work was produced (if possible), and the URL (if available). As it is an unpublished report, add the year of completion date in place of the publication year in the in-text citations and reference list.
To cite an annual report in a works-cited list or reference list, both APA and MLA styles recommend using the name of the author or the organization, the title of the report, the publication year, the publisher (if different from the author), and the URL (if available). To cite an annual report in a parenthetical citation, MLA style recommends using only the author or the organization name, and APA style recommends using the name of the author or the organization and the publication year.
