CSE citation generator

To cite in the Council of Science Editors (CSE) style, it is helpful to know basic information about your source, including author name(s), the title of the source and/or article, date published, and page numbers (if applicable).
This guide will show you in-text citations and full reference examples in CSE for the following source types:
Website
Book
Journal article
Newspaper or magazine article

Formatting in CSE style
The CSE citation style has two parts:
In-text citation.
Reference list.
In-text citation
In-text citation has three styles:
Citation-sequence system.
Citation-name system.
Name-year system.
In this guide, here is how to create in-text citations for name-year system:
One author: Example sentence (Rose 2003).
Two authors: Example sentence (Goldstein and Fox 2004).
More than two authors: Example sentence (Watson et al. 2007).
You can also cite more than one source at a time:
Example sentence (Goldstein and Fox 2004; Rose 2003; Watson et al. 2007).
Reference list
Place the list at the end of your paper and title it “References.” References are listed in alphabetical order by the first author’s surname.

Citing a book in CSE style
In-text citation basic format and example:

Citing a journal article in CSE style
The title of journals should be abbreviated according to the ISO 4 standard. Use ISSN.org for journal abbreviation.
