Mr. FB was an American anthropologist who has been called “the father of American anthropology”. Anthropology is the study of humans. It deals with human behavior, biology, and culture or societies both in the present and past. Cultural Anthropology is the study of ‘culture of human’.
As per FB, the culture of humanity is nothing that has been developed independently. The culture was developed through the continuous interaction between neighbors. If it is said that culture is not isolated, then the entire study will go opposite. Culture is called ideas, behavior, and custom that a particular group of people is having. It is believed that cultures are unique from each other. But, if it is not isolated then the anthropologists may define the community, society, or culture different from what has been taught in the chapter.
They may have defined community, society, or culture on the basis of the geographical area rather than customs. They may assume the person who belongs to a particular geographical area will behave in particular nature. The same way they do with the fossils to find out which place or civilization they belong to. Likewise, they will define and distinguish the people’s community from one to another. The identity of nationality will be then taken into consideration to define society or community, even the culture.
